How can we help?
Email jgmedia@outlook.com with a question, a bug or an idea, and we'll get back to you. If something went wrong in the app, tell us your phone model, iOS version and roughly where you were, and a screenshot helps.
Common questions
- Does Overlandi work without phone signal?
- Yes. When you open a plan, Overlandi saves the map along its route for offline use automatically, and while you navigate it keeps fetching the map ahead of you. To keep somewhere else, pan the map to it, open the menu and choose Save this area. Saved maps, the route you're navigating and place search for saved areas then work with no connection. Maps you've already viewed are cached too. On a slow connection the app keeps downloads small and picks up again when the signal comes back.
- How do I ride a GPX file?
- Open the .gpx file from Files, Mail or another app and choose Overlandi. You can navigate to the start, or ride it the other way round from the other end. You'll see the surface breakdown of the track before you set off.
- Which ways does Overlandi route on?
- In enduro (motorbike) mode, off-road sections use only ways that are open to motorbikes according to OpenStreetMap. Footpaths, bridleways, private roads and ways with a motor-vehicle ban are left out. Map data can be out of date and rules change, so always follow local access rules and signs on the ground.
- Is group help or crash detection an emergency service?
- No. A help alert, including an automatic crash alert, goes only to the other members of your ride group. Overlandi does not contact emergency services or any monitoring centre. The alert screen has a shortcut that opens your phone dialler so you can call emergency services yourself. Crash detection is off unless you turn it on in Settings › Safety.
- What data does Overlandi collect?
- Your sign-in email, the plans you save and the settings you choose, plus your position while you navigate or share it with a group. Recording GPS ride traces to improve map data is off unless you turn it on. There are no ads and no ad trackers, and we don't sell your data. The details are in our privacy policy.
- How do I delete my account?
- In the app, open Settings and tap Delete account at the bottom of the list. This deletes your account and the data linked to it. You can also delete just your recorded rides in Settings. If you can't get into the app, email us from the address you signed in with and we'll delete it for you.
- Does it cost anything?
- No. Overlandi is free to use, with no ads.
Overlandi is run by JG Media Limited, registered in England and Wales, company number 10882020.
